Sights of Happiness

Weeks of summer holidays with the family brings a lot of joy, gratitude, exhaustion, exasperation and reflection.


I realized that happiness comes in many shapes and sizes. It sometimes comes at unexpected times and in unfamiliar places, as much as in old habits and tired days. It comes when you consciously endeavour for it, just as it comes graciously extended to you by gentle souls.


Whatever it is, happiness is within each of us.



Happiness Is


The first bloom from the first plant ever by the pandemic-born-beginner plant parent.


And then its first seed pod. Saved the world!


This uncle wiped clean the market's table with three tissues, brought his glass, small bottle of whiskey, another bottle of water, a packet of nuts and a stash of 4D betting forms (luk hup choi). Slowly filling up, drinking, grazing on his nuts and Indian music playing from his mobile. Uncle had his perfect Sunday afternoon.

Not being able to get out of the oldest department store in town because the deals are just splendid and you're finding gifts for everyone back home.

Finding out your nephew is now a teenager who is more grown up than you think, and understands his grandparents far better than you imagined.

How #blessed are we when we can appreciate so many happy moments in every day.
