Saying No to Ladies Parking

As a female, have I enjoyed the privileges of ladies parking you ask?

The answer is a resounding yes. In fact, my husband and I have even been guilty of swapping driver's seat, just to get into the ladies parking.

Well, I am not a feminist, but I do believe in gender equality. The gender equality that refers to equal opportunity and a level playing field, regardless of gender.

Wouldn't ladies parking then be something that is against the principle of Gender Equality? where the assumption is that if all genders are assumed to have the same skills and capabilities, and therefore equal privileges, or lack of them?

Why do women need parking privileges? How have they been disadvantaged and not on level playing field?
